General Information
Pricing
Take advantage of your Royal College fellow discount; simply provide your Royal College fellow number when you purchase the assessment.
Although the fees for this activity are collected by the British Pharmacological Society (BPS), the money is sent to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Prices are set for cost recovery purposes.
Payment
Your credit card will be charged in Canadian dollars. A credit card charge from “BPS Assess” will appear on your credit card statement.
PSC Account
To purchase and use the assessments, you must create an account on the BPS's platform. Your personal information will not be used by the BPS or any other organisation. Click on the link for more information about the BPS Privacy Policy. After you create an account, you will be sent an account activation confirmation email from bpsassessment@bps.ac.uk. NOTE: If you participated in the PSC assessments between October 2017 and April 2018, you will already have an account, you must update the information and include your Royal College fellow number for the member price.
To access the platform, click on the “Sign In” button at the top of the landing page, use the email and password you provided when you create your account.

You will be prompted to enter your email address and the system will send instructions to the email address entered.
Assessments
Each assessment includes 30 questions and touch upon the knowledge areas related to prescribing skills: Prescribing, Prescription Review, Planning Management, Communicating Information, Calculation Skills, Adverse Drug Reactions, Drug Monitoring, and Data Interpretation.
A summary of your score are provided once the assessment is completed. Feedback for each question can be found by returning to question and includes, correct answers, scores and rationales. For your convenience, you can leave the assessment and return to complete it at a later time.
The 2 hours of MOC Section 3 credits is based on completing all 30 questions. A certificate of completion is available at the end of the evaluation form.
When you select an assessment for purchase, you will be asked if you would like access to both the English and French versions of the assessment. You will only be charged for one.
Assessment topics
We recognize that only a few general areas of practice were selected to initiate this project (internal medicine, pediatrics and family medicine). It is possible that a limited portion of the content may relate to other specialties, however it is important to note that the majority of content is not likely relevant, except to the general areas of practice identified.
New theme based assessments applicable across specialties, are now available:
- Anticoagulants
- Analgesic and Adjuvant
- Antidepressants and Anxiolytic
